A large tree in front of buildings, covered in sunlight, on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi.
Campus.
  1. 3 Accomplishments

    1. I completed my methodology and literature review this week! While these are just the beginnings of a larger paper, I hope that they are the foundation for something notable I can publish in the future.

    2. I was able to create my first GIS map using my own data. It was fascinating to see everything come together for this vital aspect of my project.

    3. I made this website, my documents so far, and even my CV accessible using the WAVE tool for Chrome. This will hopefully help expand my readership.

  2. 3 Obstacles

    1. During our GIS lesson, I struggled with the pacing of the lecture as I was focusing too specifically on getting all my data rather than just practicing with what I was able to find.

    2. Similarly, I was behind on learning a specific aspect of Excel, a PivotTable. For both this and the above, I will see Dr. Stan during her office hours.

    3. Making the language of my literature review as concise as possible was hard, as I am pretty verbose. Hopefully, any feedback I will receive will sharpen the writing.

  3. 3 Things Learned

    1. I learned how to make a proper, accessible, and informative research poster.

    2. I learned from Sean how best to read a lot of text in a short amount of time.

    3. I learned about USM grad school and the offerings. Though I want to go to law school, I still have many years ahead to finalize that decision.

  4. Project Updates: What's Next?

    1. Begin the "Results" section.

    2. Create a draft of my map with all my data.
