3 Accomplishments
I completed my methodology and literature review this week! While these are just the beginnings of a larger paper, I hope that they are the foundation for something notable I can publish in the future.
I was able to create my first GIS map using my own data. It was fascinating to see everything come together for this vital aspect of my project.
I made this website, my documents so far, and even my CV accessible using the WAVE tool for Chrome. This will hopefully help expand my readership.
3 Obstacles
During our GIS lesson, I struggled with the pacing of the lecture as I was focusing too specifically on getting all my data rather than just practicing with what I was able to find.
Similarly, I was behind on learning a specific aspect of Excel, a PivotTable. For both this and the above, I will see Dr. Stan during her office hours.
Making the language of my literature review as concise as possible was hard, as I am pretty verbose. Hopefully, any feedback I will receive will sharpen the writing.
3 Things Learned
I learned how to make a proper, accessible, and informative research poster.
I learned from Sean how best to read a lot of text in a short amount of time.
I learned about USM grad school and the offerings. Though I want to go to law school, I still have many years ahead to finalize that decision.
Project Updates: What's Next?
Begin the "Results" section.
Create a draft of my map with all my data.
